RELATED FAILED RIFT STRUCTURESThe petroleum traps related to the failed rift are constituted by tilted faulted blocks, flower structures settled during the southeastern drifting of Madagascar, draping anticlines on high basement or horst. These structures can be encountered in Majunga basin, within the Ankara trough, in Morondava basin, within the Karroo corridor, Berenty trough and Vohidolo high. |

The passive margin contains, roll over anticlines, flower structures, stratigraphic traps, tilted faulted blocks, trapping associated with salt tectonic. RELATED PASSIVE MARGIN STRUCTURESThe structures related to the passive margin are located in the Ambilobe, Majunga and Morondava basins. The slope boundaries of the Middle Jurassic and paleo-valleys of the uppermost Lower Cretaceous can be mapped. Result of a well indicated good light oil show within Albo-Cenomanian low stand wedge sand. |
